I have been considering the idea of writing a few lines for this place since a while, because actually these pages are about photography, not about me as person. It’s all about the inspiration driving or afflicting me, about the way I try to deal with all the different influences I get. Life is fragile, and these photographs are a memory of sorts I carry with me, utterly the way I try to express a mood or an idea. I adore the work of Anselm Adams, but it is also important for me to mention Michael Kenna and the Paris based photographer Klavdij Sluban, whose work had been like a revelation when I first saw it, and which consistently is an awesome source of inspiration.
Somebody once said a photograph is getting better when all distracting elements have been removed, and when it focuses on the core of a message. That’s the idea behind most of my photographs, although it’s sometimes hard to achieve.
Beyond this, life tends to be normal. I’m married, I have two sweet children, and I live in the western part of Germany.
