Corbridge Classic Car Show

A selection of photos from 2010 and 2011.

Feel free to help me out with the Make or Model name of these classic and modern cars.

The MKIII Vauxhall Cavalier

I bought the car in 2003 as a mint condition, unmodified 2.0L SRI 8V. Previously to this I owned a Cavalier GSI which I had spent a fortune on but the back arches and boot floor were rotten so I spent 6 month searching for a 4 door saloon so I could fit the GSI bodykit and Turbo Leather Interior. I looked at countless Cavaliers until I found this rust free, well loved SRI which was far better than anything else I had looked at.

It had spent it's life ether sitting on the drive, doing the weekly shopping run or driving 200 miles to the Lakes a few times a year.

Over a couple of month I fitted all the GSI toys and trim. I thought about fitting the GSI engine but it seemed pointless as I only needed the car to get me to work and back.

At present, along with the GSI bodykit it has - Alarm, Immobiliser, Mul-T-lock, Remote Central Locking + Total Closure, Electric (One Touch) Windows x4, Electric Sunroof, Full Leather Interior + Heated Front Seats, Electric Heated Mirrors, Trip Computer, Headlight Wipers, Airbag, Power Steering and ABS.

I opened up the front bumper, fitted a Megan Splitter, removed the Griffin badge from the grille, fitted headlight eyebrow's, moved the number plate to one side and made a stainless steal surround for it.

I fitted front Wind Deflectors and at the rear I fitted the number plate/light tail board, Cobra Stainless Steal back box, rear mud flaps and de-badged it.

I lowered it 40mm and the Vauxhall rims were binned for a set of 17inch 100+ alloy wheels.

The car has been my pride and joy, only doing 20,000 miles in 8 years, with regular maintenance, oil changes, new belts and plenty of TLC.

PS. Apparently I'm a perfectionist. If it's on the car, it's got to work and if it's going to work, it better work properly. If something is damaged, it gets repaired. If it's worn out, it gets replaced.

And apart from it's MOT, nobody does anything to the car except me.
