Hello and welcome to my Flickr space.

Not sure of what people think, but to me, “Flickr is a home”.

The wonderful community and friendly atmosphere are never found elsewhere, at least for me…. “Flickr is a home”.

My name is Abubakr Saeed. I‘m a Sudanese citizen (African) and I work in the international commodity trading business.

Photography is one of my favorite hobbies. A good photograph is like a fine musical piece, the real artist enjoys it in many visual, spiritual and sensible dimensions.

I have joined Flickr mid 2006, if I recall well, then I lost my account and couldn’t retrieve it.

In 2010, I created this one but due to the intense work commitments, I wasn’t really able to contribute until June 2015, where I started posting very few images and gradually interacting with the community.

Now I have been familiar with many people and I have wonderful, true, genuine and very decent friends and I’m delighted to call them “My Flickr family”, to whom I’m very grateful for everything here.

I started shooting random pictures when I was 15, with a Kodak 110 & 24 shots film (yeah, I agree! quite an old stuff) and since then, I’ve tried many brands namely Kodak, Konica, Minolta, Yashica, Zenit, Sony, Canon, Olympus & Nikon.

My first digital camera was Olympus followed by, Sony, Canon, Nikon; all were point and shoot. I finally settled with Nikon DSLRs.

I don’t follow specific photography method or school, I just try to catch the beauty in subjects I see/find.

I gained my experience through practice, friends and access to information.

Most of my photos were taken while traveling in addition to those taken in my hometown.

When I was young, I did many experiments at home, including making basic box single slide film cameras, photo enlargement and projection with very basic tools, film and photo developing and printing with proper apparatus, making magnification lenses out of broken ones … etc. (Most failed, of course, but it was an interesting and informative fun 😅).

In addition to photography, I also like music (fine music) and I enjoy listening to selectively great artists in a diverse of genres.

I started following Bob Marley when I was a teenager and I was inspired by his positively charismatic personality, wiseness, humbleness, kindness, and his great music and revolutionary lyrical approach against all kinds of injustice, and in this regard, he was very strict and committed, yet very passionate.

Watching selectively good movies is also one of my favorite things.
