I think I fall into the keen beginner group.

With an interest in flyfishing (NZ) and photography

I used a Canon 350d mostly as an expensive point and shoot for a few years, then as I started to venture into the creative settings (I messed up more than I care to mention.)

As my pictures improved I lashed out and bought a Canon 40d.

I intend to improve my portraits and landscapes and maybe invest in a good macro lens and give that a go.

Looking for other Flikr members local to me (Northern suburbs of Melbourne) to go on shoots, just to see how they approach and prepare for landscapes etc
