My name is Amir Barzi and thank you for checking out my stream here on Flickr! I am a part-time photographer located in San Diego, CA. My passion is for capturing a decisive moment with subsequent creative style in studio or on location. I'm here on Flickr to share my passion and to network with like minded photographers.

My first camera was a late 1970's Polaroid. It's one of my first memories as a kid, I still have that first picture I took with it at age 6. Since then I have continued in one capacity or another ever since.

I started shooting mostly color negatives then gave into to digital race and now I made the full circle and back to film. I find my self burning more and more B&W film with medium format bodies and manual focus lenses. My film choices are Acros, Trix, Agfa for B&W, Portra and Provia for colour. Infrared work I like Rollei IR400. Rodinal, DDX and HC110 for B&W developers. Fuji Hunt for C-41 and Kodak E6 for color slide film development. I've a fully equipped darkroom at my disposal and I spend a lot of time in there to fine tuning my technique and process. I enjoy the traditional archival process that fine art prints require. I am definitely not a purist or a snub when it comes to traditional film photography, it takes a lot of time to get an image developed and optically printed in the darkroom. It's a labor of love and patience. One thing I do know is that film look is something that can not be denied or replicated with digital. It has a certin Je Ne Sais Quoi.
