Retired Lab Tech - Used to do all my own wet darkroom work (developing/enlarging/printing), went back to school to learn the digital side of photography when I retired. I enjoy wondering about photographing a multitude of subjects from different perspectives and not opposed to "Post Visualization" digital darkroom fun. I keep my camera relatively close at hand photographing what I see, be it in the yard or wondering out and about dealing with what the light gives me to "record" that instant in time. My creative fun starts when looking through the viewfinder, editing/cropping in my mind before pushing down the shutter button then finishing the process like one would in a darkroom. Now film is a chip recording 0 and 1's, the darkroom is a computer, Photoshop, Lightroom the enlarger and developing process. Now finished prints appear from an inkjet printer not a developing tray and can be easily viewed on a glowing screen similar to a projected transparency. Much quicker and easier to share through electronic media.
When you're my age (now 86) and retired if it’s not fun why do it? The only one you have to satisfy/please is yourself.
Note: I try to keep my Albums organized to subject matter hopefully making it easier to find a topic one may have an interest in rather than scrolling through my wide-ranging mixed subject matter in the Photostream… jwb
