Typical Mid-westerner 3rd generation American German heritage. Recently retired and now have more time to play with my interests in photography. Been taking pictures as hobby but shot some for money in mid 70's just to pay for my gear really.

Started with digital with a Sony DSC 707. Think it cost me $1200 for a 5 megapix & 10X optical zoom had the rotating body which I became very fond of so much so that my next 3 cameras DSC 717, DSC 728 and now a DHC HX100 have been the same style less the HX100 which has now followed the trend of articulated screens. I really would like to enter the DSLR realm but having a hard time justifying the costs in retirement. Not so much the bodies as much as the lenses. But things might change one never knows.
