POSIPIX are geotagged pictures of places, such as streets and shops.

All POSIPIX images have the co-ordinates of the place embedded in the image. This allows online applications like flickr to place the images onto maps.

Satellite navigation systems (such as Navman's NavPix system) can also use these images for navigation. So you can use flickr to find pictures of destinations that you want to visit, download them and then navigate to the location shown in the picture. Neat eh!
