Stan Strembicki is currently an emeritus professor of art in the College of Art at Washington University in Saint Louis where he has taught since 1982. He has exhibited though out the USA and internationally and has taught in Florence, Italy since 1990. He was granted a National Endowment for the Arts Grant in 1993. His work from the Katrina portfolio and Mardi Gras are in the collections of the Louisiana State Museum, The Museum of Contemporary Photography in Chicago and the Kresge Art Museum. Some of his Katrina images were also part of the Spike Lee documentary "Katrina: Come Hell & High Water". His work can be found in collections on all seven continents, yes, even Antartica.

It not only pleases my aesthetic sense, but often has a haunting quality that makes me stop and look often. Stan also has an unerring ability to really capture a person in a photo. And when you have three obnoxious boys to capture in one shot, that is quite a trick.
