Founded in 1983, the Schmidt Design Group, Inc. provides quality landscape architectural and planning design services throughout the Western United States. Our firm combines a rare emphasis in our work of balancing artistic expression in design with a major emphasis on environmental sensitivity. We are most fulfilled when our work improves the quality of life for the communities where we design and, in turn, results in a positive environmental legacy.

The scope of our experience is broad with an emphasis on both public and private clientele which has brought us a wide variety of experience of project types and scales. This experience includes from small scale landscapes to planning several thousand acres. We have been honored to receive numerous local, state, and national awards for design excellence and technical competence. Our firm is headquartered in San Diego with a branch office in the Sacramento area and we hold Landscape Architecture Registration in California, Arizona, and Nevada.
