I'm an editor at my college newspaper, and I love taking pictures. Most of my shooting is with my Nikon D40, but I like to shoot with a D300s when I can get it from my office for a while.

I've also started shooting film, my Yashica TL Electro is failing me, so I'm looking for a new film SLR. I feel like shooting on film has made me a better shooter because I have to be more aware of each frame, and by using more primitive, built-in light meters, I've had to learn about settings--long story short, I think every new (or new-ish) photographer should shoot on film.

I tend to shoot in a photojournalism style, but I like trying other things, including portraits and I want to try my hand at staged photography ... I really want to take a picture of a unicorn ... I'm working on a way to make that happen.
