After four years of trial and many errors I have finally converted to 95% digital but still have three rolls of Kodak Ektar100 in the frig.

The two prime range finder lens used are: Leica Summicron 35mm symmetrical and Zeiss Biogon ZM 25mm. The Ricoh A12-M mount accepts all Leica M lenses so no adapters were necessary. My favorite lens is Kern Micro-Switar 50mm/1.8 for my Alpa 9D SLR, for which I finally purchased a Metal Bones to M adapter. It fit well and the imagines are outstanding.

I use manual focus with aperture priority since none of my lenses are coded, this is automation for me since I am used to total manual.

The Ricoh does not have an ultra-high pixel count but does not have the AA filter to degrade the resolution. It has an APC size sensor with form factor of 1.5. I let you judge the final results. All images are taken from RAW/DNG files, edited in Adobe Camera RAW and CS4 in Pro-RGB 16bit color space. The camera white point is set using the X-rite Gray Card whenever possible with the final B & W conversions made in CS4.

Finally I print my photos for viewing on an EPSON R3000, the B & W prints are stunning, but for gallery, the files have been down compressed and converted to JPG files.
