Drag to set position!
I have been taking photographs for more years than I care to remember (I even have the grey hair to prove it) but haven't really shared until now.
I am a fan of Olympus products, having owned the OM10 and OM4Ti 35mm film cameras. I still have my old OM10 and one day might run a roll or two through just to see what the results are like. I also have a Mamiya TLR which I have yet to try. I think I am a serial kit collector!!
Digital wise I have an Olympus (who'd have guessed) E-620 and a very recent E-PL1. For the E-620 I have the 14-42 and 40-150 lenses, and recently added 70-300 and 9-18, but I have also invested in an adapter for my old OM lenses which include a 26mm (56mm), 50mm (100mm), 135mm (270mm), 80-210mm (160-420mm) and 300mm (600mm). Figures in brackets are the equivalent when used on the E-620. Think that is a bit anal?
Anyway, I decided this year I want to get better at taking photographs and, working on the assumption that the way to get better is to do it more and get constructive critiscism, I decided to get onto Flickr, share and join some groups.
Please let me know what you think as I go along; I promise not to display hurt feelings.
Updating this, March 2012:-
I sort of lost my way somewhere with photography. Its probably six months since I took a serious photograph. Now I am slowly coming back. Soon I hope to show new work, probably darker, less real.
Update January 2020:-
I am starting to think about serious photography again. After a few years of my life being very different I am hoping to use a camera again, instead of my phone. In the meantime I am engaged with GuruShots and I am trying to get as far as I can with photographs taken with my phone. This is also making me examine what I like about other people's photographs.
Update April 2020:-
A couple of weeks ago I bought myself a new Olympus OM-D em5 mkii. I also bought an adapter to use my old 4/3rds lenses with this camera and my e-pl1. Then we went into lockdown and my plan of taking wider landscapes evaporated.
So I decided to concentrate on taking photographs with my mobile phone, a Samsung Galaxy Note 9. I am also seeing how far I can progress with Gurushots using only mobile phone pics. I am also sharing a photo a day with my wider family, giving thought to something different each day.
Update January 2021
Well, what a strange year. I am still doing a fair bit of photography, but often just mundane daily shots. I have just made an online purchase of an old 110 format film camera, which came with some flash cubes too. With some out of date film on its way I am planning on putting a roll or two through and see what the results are like.
