No question, Ian is the King of night-time in San Francisco. He really knows the city and has taken beautiful pictures of all of the icons and many places that his photos could make into icons! His dedication to medium format and film make his photos superb in both dynamic range and resolution without any need for extensive processing - he gets it right in the camera! I always look forward to his postings on flickr and hope to meet him someday so I see his work in action.

Let me first start out by saying that Ian is one talented photographer! Well, you already know if you have gone through his photostream. Over the past year Ian and I have become very good friends and shooting partners. Aside from being a generous, trustworthy and humble friend, Ian has also been an excellent teacher. He has taught me a variety of great techniques that I use today in my own photography, and has also inspired me to learn and shoot medium format film. I must say that this has been a great addition to my photography goals. Ian has shown me quite a variety of shooting locations where some of my best work has been created. The sky is the limit when Ian and I get together for a shoot. I feel fortunate to have had the chance to meet and become friends with Ian and I know he will continue to inspire myself and others. Ian, Is one of those old school talented awesome photographers. He comes from the film era and is still shooting film. Anyone can be a good digital photographer but Ian is a GREAT film photographer. I have had the pleasure of shooting with him on numerous occasions. He is a wealth of knowledge and is always willing to share it. Not only is he a great photographer he is an EXCELLENT tour guide. He is primarily responsible for taking me to some of the best locations in the San Francisco bay area.
