I started with a Minolta XG7 45 years ago. I did miss Kodachrome. But, digital is another world. Anyway, I am totally self taught in photography. 45 years of trial and error learning every time out. With digital, I started with a Minolta 7D since I had some good Minolta glass. When Minolta was in limbo, I switched to a Canon 30D and bought my 500 f4. This has turned into a sickness. I've had several different 1D and 5D cameras, 3 big whites and numerous other Canon lenses. Now I finally went to an R7. But with using the R7, the wants are growing for the next best full frame R series possibly the R3. For the past month, the most of the pics loaded have been with the R7 and either the 800 f5.6 EF or 300 f2.8 EF lens. I don't notice any performance problems with the EF glass. Recording images of the Natural World has been a life long joy for me. I hope to continue into the future and share this passion.
