I love to make things. I enjoy handspinning and knitting but have a passion for patchwork and quilting. Doing it, reading about it, looking at photos of quilts all help to make the days enjoyable.

At the moment I have a liking for curves. Circles, hexagon shapes and straight lines that combine to give the appearance of curves.

I also like combining embroidery, redwork and patchwork. Beads and lace are another embellishment I like to use. I love little stitcheries done in backstitch.

I enjoy doing free motion machine quilting on my quilts no matter how big or small they are. On the other hand I will often use handstitching worked in heavier threads.

I like most colours but don't much like brown and acid yellow. I suppose I'm really quite traditional but do enjoy breaking out and trying something new. Recently I have really taken to making little quilts with raw edge applique pictures on them, something I find great fun.

Designer names mean very little to me. I make my work using combinations of colour as my main inspiration.

I collect old sewing bits and bobs. I have my mother's and grandmother's old button boxes and regularly sort through them and use the buttons as decoration on my quilts.

If you'd like to know more about my preferences take a look at the Galleries I have created.
