hi! i'm maycee and am a junior in high school. both science and photography are passions of mine and i love being... weird! ;D let's see... i love bicycling, being active, playing my violin, bogart, snapping photos, and hanging out with my nerd buddies during my spare time.

the camera i use is a rather simple point and shoot, but i try to push it to the best of its abilities. i'm saving up for a canon digital rebel (almost there! just a couple weeks of working for my aunt!) because i'm so limited as to what i can accomplish on my pns. gosh, i can't wait! after acquiring my new DSLR and basic camera equipment i'm going to save up for a USM 100mm f/2.8 macro so i can get up close shots of pretty spiders and insects. bugs are so cool!

i live in humboldt county. it's foggy here october through may and may through october, but it's really a beautiful place. the flora and fauna here are very diverse and exquisite. maybe for my birthday in october i'll ask for a 55-250mm lens to photograph the herons, plovers, ducks, cranes, and sandpipers native to the arcata marsh.

fun, awesomesauce facts about myself... my favorite color is brown (most of the time), when i grow up i want to work for national geographic as a scientist/photographer, i play the clarinet in my orchestra, and i heart sushi.

gosh, i have my dslr now accompanied by the ever-loved 50mm, and i've learned a lot. i'm going to bypass the 55-250mm and save up for the 70-200mm f/4L usm lens and set my sights to coastal birds. so much more room to expand and grow!
