My fascination for photography started in high school a long time ago. Making a photo is easy. Conveing the impact is quite different and far more difficult.

I gave up my studies and after a period of freelance work, I decided in the early eighties to settle in Amsterdam as a photographer.

Done a lot. Tried a lot and enjoyed the challenge.

Even without digital technology it is possible to generate strong images. Black / white, Infra-red, optical lens techniques!

Joining a professional organisation boosted both my knowledge and my skills. And a few years ago I gained qualifications in architecture and illustrative photography. The images were on display in England and elsewhere. In these categories I have been able to deliver work for interior design. Photo's intended as decorations in hotels, institutions, restaurants, etc.

In my professional work I focus on the clients need for the image. But photography is never a nine to five job. At the moment there are two art projects that have my attention.

In the "Extreme Perspective" project I look for the limits of what is feasible. What was previously only possible with the help of extreme lens constructions is now again possible with special projections.

The "Lenses with Swirl" project only uses light and lens technology. So no Photoshop manipulation. Basic and pure.

Old lenses get a new life. The imperfections of the old lens constructions are creatively greased on modern cameras.

Enjoy the photo's.
