Hey, I'm still alive and kicking. I have a CT coming up so we are all hoping that will be nice and boring. Still trying to get and LX3. Still shooting almost everyday, but I don't get to post much on Flickr. I've been asked to do a solo show, but not sure when or how that will work out with the lack of cash to fund the show in the first place. Still paying on the $90,000 cancer sucks bill...lol. Thanks again for all the support and prayers. All is well in the flatlands.

One year ago I was told I had cancer. So two surgery's later and some super fun chemo treatments I say "FU cancer" with a nice big finger and evil grin. I'm clean at this time and plan to stay that way. Thank you for all of the support, e-mails and comments, it does mean something and keeps a smile on one's face in bad times.

Well, I had a second surgery to get the rest of the cancer out on December 18th, 2008. I was in the hospital through Christmas, so that sucked. I was sick in the hospital during recovery and sick in the hotel waiting to go home, then sick on the way home and stuck eating rice cakes and cereal for two weeks once I did get home. I'm now doing very good. I'm back to work and shooting again. I just found out I do not have to do radiation, so that's great news all by it's self.
I've still got a long way to go. The type of cancer I had is very aggressive and I've got a 50/50 shot at it coming back in the same place and a 34/40 shot at it coming back somewhere else. So my motto has been, "I'm not out of the woods yet, but I'm swinging my ax as hard as I can."
Thank you for the continued support from everyone here and in the none Flickr world, emotionally, financially and with rides and general phone calls. I goes far and means so much when you are stuck in this situation.

Well, chemo is going as good as it should, my hair is falling out and I feel terrible while it tries to kill me. After the chemo is done, I feel fine and get back to normal is about 5 days. I've started to sell some of my photographs on t-shirts at www.voodoo8ball.com . They along with the other bicycle themed shirts are selling well. I sold 5 prints at the last art show and I'm super happy about that. Now if I can just kill off this cancer and grow old, I'd not have to update this all the time...lol.

I start chemotherapy on 2008-07-14 and it's a monster treatment. Four hours a day for five days in a row. Then I take a break for two weeks and then I start it again. I do that for four cycles. That should bring me up to the fall and just about wipe me out. I'm still thankful for all the comments, good wishes and support I've had from everyone, please don't stop and thank you.

Another giant thank you to everyone who has me on a prayer list or has been thinking about us in any way. I'm still putting all of them to good use. I had my surgery on the 10th of April, 2008 and rode my bicycle in the Wichita River Festival parade on May 9th, 2008. I started back to work the next week and I'm feeling really good. Thank you for sending cards, e-mails, money, gift cards or calling to say "Hi, how are you doning." It's good to hear from everyone, even the people I don't know. All those tiny thing add up and helped me keep my mind on getting better and not looking back. I just posted some shots of the tumor, so enjoy looking at that ugly bastard.
Peace,

I've been recovering from my surgery for the last few weeks. I had a 5-6 pound tumor removed from my abdomen at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN. I've had no scars until now and I've never really been sick. I move a bit slower than I did before and have a weight restriction for about a month. As soon as that passes I'll be back shooting just as before. Until then I'm limited by having a photo bag caddy. I've got some friends who will help me out for the next month. Thanks for reading...

I've got cancer....
The emotional state: I'm good until I think of my son, and then I break down and then I get pissed off and mad. I'm using that as my motivator. I've also got lots of offers for lunch and beer, so I plan on taking everyone up on the other side of the operation and treatment and I don't drink, but I'm gonna start. Thank you for the humbling and continued support.

I was told I have cancer on Febuary 22nd 2008 at around 11:50am. It really ruined a otherwise great day. Anyway, I'm going into some very strange and unknown territory for myself, having always been healthy for my whole life. Then, one day lay down on the floor to watch TV with your wife and baby and feel a lump in your abdomen, and everything changes. It's surreal in more ways than one. My goal is to document the process with my photographs and hopefully we will all learn something either creativly, medically, philosophically or supercalifragilisticly. Did I spell that right?
**** My regular profile till 2008-02-22 ****
I like to take photographs and see what other people are doing with their cameras. I try to shoot just about everything I have the opportunity to get in front of. I've been shooting heavily since 1992 and prior to that I was a visual artist, painting, printing, drawing, sculpting etc.
Currently I'm shooting a Nikon D200. I've also shot with the Canon AE-1 Program, Nikon N90s, D1, D1x, D70, 990, 995, 4500, and P5100, Fuji S2-Pro, Sony Cybershot DSC-W50 and DSC-S50. There is also a small group of Olympus Stylus film cameras in a drawer somewhere.
I have experience in Photoshop 6, CS, CS2, CS3 and now CS4, Nikon Capture NX, Nikon NXView and have used Bibble, Acdsee, and other random software in the past. I've also been a NAPP member since 2004.
I am fortunate enough to use both Mac and PC on a daily basis. I get to shoot everyday and hope I can keep it that way. I like long walks by the river blah blah blah...
I had forgotten most of this stuff until now.
Also, I make a habit of looking at the galleries of the people who comment on or mark as favorite my photographs. I also read lots of profiles to see where people are from and what they do etc. I find it helps bring a sense of person and culture to the galleries.
I've also been told my AVI looks mean, but I'm not that mean...lol.
I've got what some would say is a "bicycle problem." It's only a problem to those who don't understand it...lol.
I joined Flickr 2006-12-22 and admin'd the Wichita Flickr group since 2007-04-09. (those numbers are so I can remember, not that anyone else cares)
