Garry was Feature Poet in 2017’s Sydney Writers Festival, a member of Diverse Poets, and Write-On (Fiction) Authors. He founded the Balmain Institute, and won the Ros Spenser Short Story Prize with Patting the Dog. With twenty-two books published, and exhibited in over-twenty European countries, he is also found in numerous anthologies.

Last year, he won an Art-In-Unusual-Places Grant, made Author-in-Residence at Corrimal Library, managed ‘Writing Stories’ workshops and edited two books. His work was published in Newcastle Poetry Anthology, ‘Calling Up The Day with Tour de Dordogne, the Don Bank anthology, Presence, with Crave Love, in Zoetic #25, Prohibition edition, USA, with Rudd’s Beer; in Poetry Compendium, Gindaberri Press, and the short story anthology, Ros Spenser Prize, WA. His three-year passionate pursuit of images created in the tidal zone, or coastal foreshore, is found in his numerous photobooks.
