Started photography when my Uncle handed me his Leica IIIC 35mm camera in 1962 which he acquired in WW2. Wound up shooting for my HS newspaper and myself .... loved B&W and, eventually, had my own darkroom. Continued my love of photography during college and eventually wound up in industry using my photo skills doing micro photography on semiconductors and running an SEM for ultra micro photos.
As a musician (another passion of mine), I saw photographers working the weddings I played for, making more $$ than me so I combined my photo skills, opened my own photo studio, and offered a great package deal for a band and photo combo (I had to be there anyway). It was very successful, and I was shooting 2 Hasselblads with a Nikon as backup during that phase.
I eventually wound up teaching photography at a college at an adult education class - later in life at a private school after I retired from job 1.
After retiring. a good friend introduced me to Flickr and especially my favorite subject - Macro / Micro photography. I enjoy the challenge of various themes and love trying to think "out of the box" when I enter a photo, trying to stay away from the obvious.
