Noud van den Boer (The Hague,1949), originally photographer, has a lifetime fascination for paper and its creative possibilities. His journeys to Japan and his interest in the Japanese culture brought him in contact with origami, the Japanese art of paper folding, which he intensely practiced for many years.
While experimenting with paper he developed this into abstract forms in paper, which find their origin in nature.
Noud: I examine what happens if you repeat a basic form over and over.
The outcome is every time a surprise to me.
By repeating a basic form a structure comes out that reminds me of natural forms, like seeds of plants and creatures that live in the sea.
