I am a professional bookdesigner and typographer, working for publishers, museums and individual customers. I was born and have trained in Amsterdam, have lived in London, Edinburgh, Paris and, since 2012, I'm back in Amsterdam. When I was 16 years old, I bought my first printing press and two cases of type and started with letterpress printing. I have scaled down to owning 3 presses, some 100 cases of type, new type still unopened and recently I found a space right in the centre of the city where I've set up a print shop. Here, I not only print, but also run courses, organise workshops and advice people on how to set up themselves a print shop. I do not only work from here, but also run courses in other people's studios.
