Rokkor Fella is one of those photographers who reminds me of an old friend, who made the best fried chicken ever....Her daughters and i always tried to figure out what she did differently to achieve such perfection...was it the recipe? the ingredients? the stove temperature? In the end we decided that, yes, it was all those things but there was one more ingredient and none of us had it..... His photostream is the everyday world of Miami, one of the most dynamic cities in the U.S. and the world. His subjects are street people of every ethnic blend, children, graffiti, the pinnings of coastal living, the sun-dappled water, exquisite flowers. All in the harsh light of the southern lattitudes with it's brilliant colors, which he uses to his advantage...to tell his story. You could use all the same techniques and you would just get an image. He captures their essence with compassion and humor. HIs eyes are the eyes of art- farsighted, insightful and lyrical. Magic.
