Alam Sehat Lestari (ASRI) is a non-government organization working in the areas in and surrounding Gunung Palung National Park. ASRI couples efforts to improve both human and environmental health by offering greater healthcare incentives to villages who safeguard the park.

Despite their immeasurable value as intact forests however, Gunung Palung and its surrounding areas have been, and continue to be hotbeds of illegal logging and burning, leading to the widespread degradation of biodiversity, increasing chances of natural fire, and reducing the quality of life of local people. It is one of these many degraded areas that ASRI and Health in Harmony are now seeking to restore.

ASRI's reforestation project, located on the South Side of the park, where the conservation team works to rid the area of invasive species that hinder forest growth, as well as replanting native species, in hopes of seeing the forest flourish once again.
