I am sad that all the changes Flickr made drove my fellow swappers away.
Swapping has helped me to develop my creativity, quilting skills, and fearlessness to try new techniques. I highly recommend swapping.
Regarding sewing.
I am not a fan of orange, brown, gold, rust or avocado green.( I am rebelling against the seventies) I can only tolerate a small amount of these colors in a quilt.
(But I do like orange with pink, more pink than orange.)
I do not like civil war prints, too brown for me.
I like clear colors.
Favorite color is blue.
I like piecing and applique. I can paper piece, but it can be tedious. I have to love the pattern.
I like the modern fabrics I am not picky about the designers.
I like hand and machine quilting.
Batiks are fine if they are not muddy looking.
I like polka dots of all sizes. I love text prints. I like purple, black and white, blue and white. I love turquoise and lime green. I like pinks and yellows that are not gold-ish, reds that are not orange-ish. I love striped bindings.
I am not in love with Dresden plates, but I do love circles and curves in quilts. I love quilts that have high contrasts. I love hand embroidery and embellishment.
I live in the rolling hills of south Eastern Pennsylvania. Life is very busy with parents, kids and grandkids. Sewing is my therapy.
