October 2025 update:
I hadn't updated my profile (About) information for a number of years so I decided to basically start over, since the information I had was so old.
I am still an amateur photographer mainly dedicated to wildlife and the occasional landscape photography. I have upgraded equipment, I have downgraded equipment, I even sold all my equipment once because I just wasn't getting out as much as I used to and I had a lot of money tied up in cameras and lenses. I went almost a year without a camera and finally decided I missed it so I bought a used camera, a very low clicker count D7100, off of eBay. I also bought a couple used lenses but I really missed being able to take wildlife photos of birds that are always a little too far away for a 300mm lens to reach and I wasn't satisfied with the quality of phots I was getting. I knew that a D7100 is a pretty darn good camera, so I splurged on a new Nikon 200-500
f/5.6 lens like I used to have. I am sure glad I did. I now have a renewed desire to get out and at least try to get some decent wildlife photos.
I am 75 years old and don't get out as much as I did back in the day but I still enjoy it when I do. I have lived in NE Wisconsin since 2019 and there are some pretty nice landscape opportunities up here, so I need to start getting out more for that too.

JC is my uncle and you can't say a bad thing about family but I would say great things about JC even if he wasn't family. I always admired his equipment and his work, and he is the reason I am now very much involved in this hobby!! Thank you JC and wish for your continued spectacular works of art!!!
jc describes himself as a amateur photographer married 37 years (Mrs. jc gets that credit!) however his photos would indicate otherwise. A true life long friend that you can count on is a rare thing. I am very fortunate to have one in my true friend, jc.
