The following are area scenic images of San Juan County located in Northwest New Mexico. The area has great weather for film productions along with many different environments to choose from.

The high desert provides the ideal location for drama, westerns, science fiction and much more. If you can dream it, you can film it in San Juan County (c). There is a little of everything in a hour and half drive from Farmington, New Mexico. The mountain wilderness, desert badlands, sandstone cliffs, rivers, ancient ruins, oil & gas refineries and even a UFO crash site in Aztec.

There are two places to stop before heading out to film your next adventure: I'd recommend stopping by the NM Film website and then touch base with the Farmington Convention and Visitors Bureau which serves as the local film contact. This will help keep your production in the right direction since you'll be working with federal, state, county, tribal, private and local land (and lots of it).
