On finding myself with a year off after 15 years teaching in Africa, I started taking my first ever digital photos in Faringdon. I use a Samsung P1000, easily carried in the pocket (or the palm of the hand). The versatility of digital amazes me and I'm still very much in the learning mode. The wide range of daylight hours and natural light in the UK (and the ever-changing weather) offer many possibilities, altering the aspect of a scene dramatically between one season and the next (and even one hour and the next!)
