My love for photography and great imagery has a timeline of nearly sixty years. My first camera at age seven, developed my first roll of film at 10 years of age, used a view camera at 12 and outfitted my first darkroom with 4x5 enlarger at 13. It has been downhill since. The better my equipment, the less I seem to know.

By the time I finished college; I had mastered the 10 zone system and was successful as an amateur. I wisely chose not to try to earn a living in photography and have enjoyed a lifetime of ogling great photographer’s images while attempting an occasional exceptional image. Digital was my downfall. Not having to adhere to the discipline of limited shots, I have replaced the time contemplating composition with the bad habit of machine gunning my exposures and picking the best average image from a sea of mediocre.

As I see the great images in Flickr, I’m reenergized to improve my images and look forward to exploring my creativity. Flickr has been a great journey for me…the ability to see such a variety of images on any subject from photographers.
