Although Minnesota does not have any mountains, deserts or oceans, what we do have is 26,917,962 acres of farmland, 11,842 lakes, 68 State Parks and 58 State Forests. In the spring of 2009 I began exploring the farmlands southwest of my hometown of Minneapolis with a Mamiya M645 Pro camera and plenty of Velvia RVP 50 slide film. I was immediately amazed by the unique beauty of the scenes I found and the brilliant colors that the slide film could capture. Those afternoon drives out to the country turned into extended road trips where I would camp at our state parks and focus almost entirely on capturing everything I saw on film. Since that first year, I have returned to the road again and again, exploring what life outside of the city has to offer.
