Object of Dreams magazine
Drag to set position!
We are…..
A vibrant culture and arts magazine aimed at showcasing the work of writers, illustrators, artists and stylists.
The magazine began by 24-year-old Dina Karim, of Waterloo, Liverpool, and Louise Dalrymple, 24, of Crosby, Liverpool, has been set up as a social enterprise (a company similar to a charity) giving marginalised local artists and writers a chance to exhibit their work to a wide audience.
The magazine started by Miss Karim, Editor in chief, and Miss Dalrymple, Creative Director and fashion graduate of De Montford University, looks at promoting the arts to a mass audience.
The duo work with local artists and journalists teaching them the essential skills needed to promote their work, write well constructed stories and give young artists the confidence and exposure needed to succeed in their field.
Miss Karim, who trained as a journalist in London and has worked on various magazines and newspapers across the country, said: ‘We began this project because we realised Liverpool was missing that one magazine where young people could dig in and learn the ropes before entering the real world, earn their stripes as such.
‘Louise and I got started in the magazine business because of the fantastic magazines that were around five years ago such as Another Late Night, where they instilled in us the importance of working to deadlines and this is our way iof thanking the city for what it gave to us.
‘This magazine is the object of all our, and the contributors, hard work, our dreams for Liverpool.’
The first issue of Object of Dreams will feature an interview with post-punk photographer Francesco Mellina, a number of creative pieces, exclusive photographs by up and coming artists, plus much more.
