PLEASE SCROLL DOWN SO YOU CAN READ THE STORY OF RONDA ON THE STREET PROSTITUTE PHOTOS.
I have been making photographs since 1967, when the University of Minnesota School of Journalism lent me a camera, and my wife and I went to Mississippi for the summer to record, photograph, and interview traditional blues musicians - recording bluesmen an activity I had been involved in already for six years at the time. This trip resulted in my first book, BLOW MY BLUES AWAY. For several years in the late 1960's, I was a reporter and photographer in Columbus, Georgia. During that time, I produced my second book, I"M SOMEBODY IMPORTANT. I then decided to become a photography teacher, and taught photography on the high school level for a total of 24 years. I have also authored eight more books of photographs and interviews. And, too, for a number of years, worked as a folklorist recording old-time musicians- and producing concerts and festivals where they performed. I recently retired as the photography teacher at Paideia School in Atlanta, and continue to photograph for exhibition and publication.
