I am a British ex-pat living and working in Norway. Most of the photos I will publish on Flickr are scans of colour print negatives or diapositives taken from 1980 to around the period of the privatisation of British Railways, coinciding with my move away from the UK.

I apologise for the variable quality of some of these images as the commercial developing of the period combined with the ravages of 25-30 years in storage has not been kind to the original material. I try to make the best I can out of the source material, with a little bit of digital reprocessing, and hope that the subject interest is enough to overlook the poor quality of some of this material in comparison to later digital images.

My first years in industry (1984-1989) were as an employee of Govan Shipbuilders in Glasgow. A fantastic experience and I shall occasionally publish photos of ships under construction in the yard from this period.

I spent the years 1991 to 2002 based in the Delft / Den Haag area of the Netherlands, with occasional site assignments in other countries and I shall eventually get round to publishing more Dutch/French/Belgian material from this era.

I have also been closely involved with railway and (for a while) bus preservation movement and occasional images may pop up from time to time. My main interest is with the Class 126 DMU now owned by the SRPS at Bo'ness. class126.co.uk/
