From early on I was surrounded by art and art appreciation whether it was my mother noticing the elegance of a teacup or my father sketching the waitress at a restaurant. My mother was also an avid gardener, which I have now become. It is only recently that I recognized how my parent’s sensibilities and every day behavior impacted my own development as an artist. Themes running through my pottery are a mix between my experiences within nature and these influences of my parents. Looking closely at my work one can see how the work has changed and developed. I have realized how special and intimate my artwork is to me and I have had the pleasure of making pottery for over 30 years.
