We are PatriaPet, LLC, based in Clifton, New Jersey and we are a family-owned business that was born from a desire to show national pride.

The idea hit on a routine trip to the pet store. After buying a dog collar for our English Shepherd dog, Bongo, Jorge Gutierrez placed the collar down on the seat next to him where a woven bracelet his daughter made him in the colors of the Colombian flag happened to be laying.

It dawned on him then that he would have loved to have been able to buy our dog a collar that allowed him to express his pride in his Colombian heritage. A quick search of the Internet showed us that no such product existed. We looked for collars and leashes with other national colors and found the same result - nothing. We realized we had an original idea and started PatriaPet, LLC – manufacturing dog collars and leashes in the colors of national pride. www.patriapet.com and launched in January of 2008.
