Add me as a friend in Facebook, let’s send MSN messages, meet in Skype tomorrow and write our common secrets in a blog, read the weathercast online, pay for our parking using our mobile phone, find each other using GPS, send text messages, buy the rings from the e-shop, get married in Second Life and declare our profits in e-State. Do you live in reality? In that case you are expired, lone and weird. Life is virtuality. And reality is but its outdated imprint.

Or don’t you agree? This year Plektrum Festival seeks to find out to what extent virtuality, much talked-about in the media, really influences our daily life and where that magical phenomenon meets the habitual everyday life in most fascinating ways. New means of communication and technologies, 3D videos and films, computer games, but also cyber war and new waves in collaboration and citizen democracy are only few of the fields where virtuality manifests itself.

The 10-day program is composed of workshops, lectures, art and music and takes us a step closer to fulfilling the dreams and surprises of the year of Tallinn 2011 European Capital of Culture, that Plektrum is now part of.
