Len Branson (39) spent most of his time in Amsterdam, The Netherlands right now. His passport still states he is Belgian but he feels more like a Universal citizen. He loves to travel and Bali is his favourite place to go and be. Next to the United States. At age 17 he left Belgium to go live in Florida near Clearwater. He graduated at Countryside Highschool in 1988 and later in 1989 he returned home... to leave again. Len - almost 19 now - was accepted as a student at de School voor de Journalistiek in Utrecht (The Netherlands). "I decided to become a journalist because I knew that the research-skills that I could pick up, would help me to pursue what I wanted in life. At that time my life-purpose wasn't very clear yet to me, but learning to become a journalist was certainly a good thing", he says about his choices in life. "As a journalist you learn to find specific information in a short amount of time and I knew then that finding the right information at any time was crucial to become whatever I wanted to be".
He used his new knowledge and skills specifically to make waves in the world of music and collected since more then 15. 000 cd's. And still counting, though the distribution of music through internet has slowed this down. His wish to get all the music in the world for free, to get tickets for every concert and to be backstage and meet all the stars that once were posters from magazines on the wall in his room when he was a teen became a reality. During that time he worked for radio, TV, newspaper and magazines. He interviewed big stars like Tina Turner and Joe Cocker and wrote several stories for the Belgian national newspaper De Morgen, Het Utrechts Nieuwsblad and Primeur (the Netherlands) about upcoming stars like Lenny Kravitz and Public Enemy. In 1994 Len became Head of Promotion of RCA Holland. At the recordlabel he worked with known artists like MC Hammer, ZZ Top, Kylie Minogue, Henry Rollins and Robbie Williams from Take That. A year later Radio 2 Holland asked Len to become Editor in Chief and he also got the job as a DJ on the national rock & pop-station 3FM where he hosted a weekly new releases-show on Sunday afternoon.
Three years later Len was offered the job of A&R Manager at CNR/Arcade, a dutch recordlabel. He accepted the job knowing it would bring him closer to a new dreamjob. After 8 months he traded his job to start up TMF Belgium, a music-TV-channel. As a Program Director he hired and worked with young TV-talent like Roos van Acker who would later become one of the biggest mediapersonalities in Belgium. In no time TMF conquered the Belgian teens with the TMF Awards as a yearly milestone for the Belgian music industry. At the age of 29 Len was offered the position of Program Director International. After 7 months he decided that he didn't wanted this promotion. He wanted to go back to be in charge of just one country. This wasn't possible at that time so he left the firm to start up Dream2.
Dream2 was and still is for almost 10 years a vehicle to create every dream and project that fits. At first Dream2 was a TV-production company mainly active in the music scene. Next to videoclips and commercials he produced musicprogrammes like BBC's Top of the Pops for JimTV and Kids Top 20 for VTM. Later, after the collapse of the music industry he transformed Dream2 into a marketing-company. Len created Stella Artois Music Records for INBev (international marketleader in beer) and workded with Sony Playstation and Baccardi on an experimental theatre-tour of the Belgian dance-act Praga Khan. Now Len is in charge as a Music Director at Radio 1 in Holland. He's a lifeguide and he still developes and produces more consciously then ever. The documentary/book SUPERWISE ME! is his main focus.
