My favorite genre is "Still life" images. The first 'still life' compositions I started to make at January 2010, and there were 2 reasons behind it -
1. Everyone is taking the shots of flowers, landscapes, urban views, etc...
2. I wanted to do something more artistic and original in photography, so I began to work in 'still life' genre out of my penchant to creativity. My first compositions were very simple and random, but later I started to work on it more seriously, learning and observing works of other people and trying to develop my own style.
The main subject that always attracts me in 'still life' genre is telling the story of human life through the inanimate objects. I'm also fascinated by beauty of colors, and shapes of objects, by opportunity to create my own composition, using color palette selected by myself. I enjoy the creative process of arranging and putting together different objects. For me 'still life' image is not just a photo of a vase with beautiful flowers, but the presentation of 'stiil life' genre as a witness to people's life and culture in symbolical context. Famous French impressionist Edouard Manet once said: "Everything that needs to be said in art can be said in small still life." - and his words became my motto.
My major and endless sources of inspiration are the world of visual Arts, music, poetry, literature, nature. I try to give the descriptions to my 'still life' images using the poems or quotes of famous poets, writers, musicians, painters in connecion with subject of image.
All my photos are taken on a natural daylight, most of compositions are arranged outside, on my balcony. Digital processing is important as long as it is not overdone. I can draw and paint - and perhaps it is the main reason why I don't want my photos look like the drawing or painting, so I don't do a lot of post processing or use the textures...
I'm just the amateur and to be the Flickr member is a great opportunity for me to see, learn, and enjoy the works of all talented people around the world. Also, I truly appreciate to anyone who is taking time to look at my photos and leave the comments. It is very important to me to hear from you, and I'm thankful for it.
