“Every dreamer knows that it is entirely possible to be homesick for a place you've never been to, perhaps more homesick than for familiar ground.”

“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.”

― Mark Twain, Mark Twain: The Innocents Abroad/Roughing It

I am Mark and I’ve been here on Flickr for a few years and have really enjoyed meeting new friends all over the world. I am still hoping to learn from others to improve my photo skills. I appreciate constructive criticism if offered.

I am originally from Kentucky, but now I live in Shepherdstown, West Virginia. I have been traveling the world for the last twenty odd years for work and initially wanted to take pictures of everything so that I could share my experiences with my friends and extended family.

It’s pretty pathetic, but the backpack with my camera equipment is getting to the point where it out weighs my luggage. Guess I’ll just have to buy another camera bag.

I am primarily interested in photographing birds and other animals, and landscapes. I also take a lot of photos simply to share everything I see on my travels with friends and family.
