Originally from Lake Como in Italy, Matteo Conti moved to South Africa in 2004 where he first discovered his keen eye for photography while creating beautiful vistas of Franchhoek. It was only after graduating from Bridgehouse High School that he pursued his new-found passion by attending one year course in Photography, Graphic Design and Fine Art at Andrew Owen School of Art In Somerset West.

Establishing a firm foundation, Matteo decided to apply his language of pictures to the advertising world by studying at the prestigious AAA School of Advertising, majoring in Art Direction and Marketing.

With a firm foot in creative application and another well vested in European heritage, Matteo took an opportunity to open Toro, a beautiful wine and apperitivo bar nestled in the Cape Quarter. Soon it was rated as one of the top three quaint wine bars in Cape Town.

During his free time, Matteo exploits a passion for motor cars and regularly takes stunning images of them at Kilarney Race Track or for big brands such as MG.

It was only when he made the decision to put his wine bar on the back burner when Matteo made the leap to specialise in photography. His attention to detail and lighting makes him the ideal choice for technical shots both indoor and out.

While the ability to manipulate any picture to his will allows him to forge a dark or flowing atmosphere, he also ventures into the field of textures and detail, setting a tone of hyper-reality, an established signature trait.

He continues to invest his talent by supplying individuals, blogs and big brands with exactly what they want while finishing his work with a final touch only he can provide.
