At age 15, I had an epiphony that life is an adventure and, since then, I have followed the call to explore, experience and learn. I began doing photography and creating photo art in 1972, at the University of Kansas, in a BFA program in the Departments of Fine Arts and Design. The winding road of my explorations includes, but certainly isn't limited to: 1) living in poverty as an artist, 2) studying and teaching T'ai Chi, 3) running my own, small moving business while attending an MA program in Expressive Arts Therapy, Humanistic Psychology and Clinical Psychology in the wild and notorious Psychology Department at Sonoma State University in CA, 4) selling Ocean Kayaks and guiding kayak trips for divers in northern CA, 4) 9 years on Kaua'i, waveski surfing in the mornings and doing home-based family therapy in the afternoons and evenings for 4 years, participating in the hurricane Iniki experience, then writing screenplays, and guiding ocean kayaking trips for another 5 years. I continued doing photography through all my explorations and, beginning in 2005, in Kansas, I have been working full time as a portrait and wedding photographer. Whether doing sculptures and photo art, moving furniture, counseling families, guiding kayak trips, or creating portraits, I find great satisfaction in creating a high quality experience for myself and my customers.
