Freelance journalist. I have worked extensively in Kurdistan (Irak, Iran, Syria, Turkey), Baluchistan (Pakistan and Iran), Caucasus (Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Abkhazia, South Ossetia, Nagorno Karabagh) and the Balkans region.

Along with Basque and Spanish print and broadcast media, I contribute articles and photo-essays to the Berlin based Hidden Europe magazine (www.hiddeneurope.co.uk/), The Diplomat magazine (www.the-diplomat.com) and Monocle magazine (www.monocle.com/), among others.

I'm also a regular contributor to English programming at Radio Netherlands.
