A research scientist working in the field of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and Co-Editor-in-Chief of the scientific journal Magnetic Resonance in Chemistry.
I've had a lifelong passion for photography, jazz, Russian classical music, vodka, and Argentinian Malbecs.
Some of the things I'm most passionate about photographing are lighthouses in storm and gale conditions, sunsets and other low light photography, clouds, macro photography of butterflies, fog scenes, moving water, mushrooms, birds, and most recently, foxes...

This gentleman -- and he is definitely a gentleman -- has been a mentor to a great number of other photographers through a number of years. I have the very good privilege of counting him as a very good friend, now going into 10 years in a few months. It's been over 5 years now since I've visited with him and his family and photographed with him, but I am still constantly benefiting from his wise expertise in photography as well as with cameras and film equipment. He's also the one who convinced me to start using professional grade slide film in my film cameras rather than what is considered as "print film" - a useage that I am thankful for with the improvements I've seen in my own photographs. Thanks, Gary -- very much appreciated!
