Years ago I loved playing with a camera and owned a couple of SLRS. The best one was stolen and it seems there hasn't been a camera that good, in my hand since.

Now let me confess, I was a shoot in auto mode person. My brain doesn't interpret certain kinds of information very well, and the numbers etc relating to learning exposure might as well have been german or chinese. I understood the principles but couldn't translate it to practise.

Now with the world of digital, the abundance of information and ability to shoot shoot and shoot without spending money on film that you don't see for hours or days... i think I have a shot at figuring it out.

I picked up a camera again in spring 2006, an unexpected inspiration from my venture into blogging. Now, I LOVE having a camera as a companion and I'm working to learn and grow with it.

Years ago my main interest was portraits, these days it is the natural world and surroundings, but I have a strong desire to re-waken my eye for portraits, and I will.

Last year my cameras were canon's A700 and S2IS, this year they are canon's A640 and Panasonic's FZ50.

someday....perhaps... an SLR.

...but really for now the panasonic is pretty close. I have some growing to do.

update:

This fall...I got my SLR. Nikon D80. I have passed the panasonic on to my husband, who hopes to pass it on to someone else in the near future.

I didn't expect to get my SLR this soon! I L O V E it, and I have lots of shooting to do. Skills take plenty of glorious practise to hone.

Year 2011

Now shooting with a Nikon D7000. The family cameras are trickling down. I have been working hard on portrait work once again, along with still life and nature-y stuff.

2014- NikonD650
