I am many things. I am...

An admirer of the Art Nouveau, Arts and Crafts and Art Deco movements. You often find me on fine days, out photographing beautiful (or what I consider to be beautiful) pieces of architecture and architectural details from these periods: from whole houses and gardens to single tiles or windows. On rainy days, I am home either uploading photographs (now I am a "thoroughly modern" with a digital camera) or reading about the periods of art and architecture I like.

A passionate collector of antiques, art and jewellery, from the 1700s through to the Second World War. I will collect anything that is aesthetically pleasing to me, or satisfies my whims. This makes my own Edwardian villa an interesting living museum of objects inherited, pre loved, bought and occasionally found. I have also collected a number of friends with similar passions!

A bibliophile. I have a collection of books that burst from my large custom-made bookshelves, on art, architecture, fashion, history (in photographs of course), social history and children's illustration as well as novels. I have a very soft spot for fairy tales thanks to a doting grandmother who instilled the love of illustration in me from an early age. I especially love illustrators from the golden age of children's illustration (Dulac, Rackham, W. Heath Robinson {who was a family friend} Nielsen and the like).

An eccentric. I am nostalgic for parts (the good parts of course) of a gentler age, and I try to add these to my life. I still write (and send) letters and Christmas cards (95 last year). Dinner parties are announced by invitation when formal. Such occasions usually bring out the silver, crystal and china from a bygone age to make it a memorable experience for my diners.

Lastly, I'd like to think that I'm a kind, caring and loyal human being who loves friendship and tries to see the best in people, and the beauty in this world. I help where I can, even if it is only a sympathetic ear, and my shoulders are broad for tears.

I should add that I'm also over 18.

Jesse's photos appeal to me because, like me, he always sees and shows the beauty in the world and does so in such a unique way that it is a pleasure to look at. Whether it's architecture, flowers, or art objects, or whether he creates wonderful collages, everything has his special touch. Most notable, however, is his miniature dollhouse, whose macro images have led many to believe he is in a real Edwardian home in 20th century London !! In addition, he creates stories that bring you into another world and that are unsurpassed in liveliness and wit. I don't want to forget Jesse's adorable teddy bears, which he also embeds in enchanting stories and which I have already grown fond of myself over time. Last but not least, Jesse has become a dear flickr-friend to me !!
