I am a Central Texas gardener on the east side of Austin. I have Been developing my garden for six years using organic techniques (for the most part). I use a lot of ornamental grasses and Texas natives, incorporating cacti and succulents whenever and wherever I can. www.eastsidepatch.com is a blog that comically documents the development of a yard from a flat plane of Bermuda Grass to what it is today. It tracks the weird, wild and rather unusual things found in a backyard habitat in Central Texas, using film and TV references to move the journey along.
