It was for my Birthday (2009) that my wife bought me a camera. A Nikon S225. From this, I began to take pictures, and look at the world with a different eye.

I now have a couple of compact cameras and use them both to full effect. Soon, it will be my Birthday again, and I will be in possession of my first DSLR - my choice is the Nikon D3000, and we will see where that journey will take me.

15/06/2010 And I am now in possession of the Nikon D3000 with Nikon 18 - 55 & Tamron 70 - 300 lenses... Now I need to learn how to use them, though had a few good results already

I use my Flickr site to chart the journey of my photography. Starting at the first images that were sometimes in focus, with some 'interesting' framing, I hope that I am growing as I progress.

I have also started my own Flickr group to save a group of trees in Armoy, County Antrim. These trees are world famous (as I am finding out), and are under threat from the roads service - www.flickr.com/groups/bregagh-trees/ Feel free to join, but even if you don't, and are in that area, the photo opportunities are great.

So here we are at the beginning of September (2010) and I am migrating away from here.
