Son of the natural world since childhood. Zookeeper and wildlife educator by trade. I enjoy international travel and wildlife conservation, with a particular interest in snake biology, anurans, birdwatching, invertebrates, marine life, small mammals, as well as all the wonders of the entire natural world. Favorite snakes include medium to large terrestrial Colubrids (Drymarchon, Masticophis, Chironius, Dendrophidion, Ptyas, etc) and arboreal to semi-arboreal Colubrids (Pseustes, Spilotes, Thrasops, Chrysopelea, Dendrelaphis, Philothamnus, etc, and the excellent "Boomslang", Dispholidus typus) as well as many other families and genera. Favorite anurans include tropical Hylids, Bufo, Eleutherodactylids, and Dendrobatids.
Have traveled to Myanmar, Bangladesh, the Peruvian Amazon, Belize, Jamaica, and China. Biozones evoking the most fascination include, but are not limited to, tropical rainforests, desert and arid zones, canyons, coastlines, and wetlands. Very intrigued by cartography and geography and I enjoy collecting maps. Besides the obvious interest in wildlife photography, I am working toward expanding to wildlife videography and have already put together a pilot episode of my first nature documentary, with more to follow! Please visit my educational website at snakeexperience.com. When not working at the zoo, I give public educational talks with live snakes, to young people and adults, with a special emphasis of reaching ethnic minorities (and ALL people) with the message of species and habitat conservation, respect for all wildlife, and instilling an awe for the wonder of nature.
