He photographs as a scientist exploring and discovering new forms of the things he sees, new angles, presenting infinite possibilities in photoshop, light, painter, effects. Sean was one of the first contacts I made when I opened my free account on flickr about a year ago. He was kind, resourceful, honest, and had some of the best child portraits I had seen. A year later, I consider him a friend. Every time he posts another fantastic image of one of his beautiful girls, or one of his neighbors, or a shot from towns around Minnesota ... I smile. They are always perfectly composed portraits that would stand honestly on their own. But Sean takes it another step and enhances them with PS treatments that are always complimentary and appropriate. I hope to be as skilled as he is one day with PS. Take some time to browse through Sean's photos. He's an honest man with a wonderful collection of art in his stream.

Let me start by saying Sean has a lot to answer for! Before I stumbled upon his stream I was happily ignorant of all the great things that could be achieved through post-processing. Being the kind, generous guy he is, he was more than willing to share his technique with others and then my addiction started. He introduced me to effects such as holga and lomo, now part of my daily routine (damn you Sean :p). Not only that but one can never cease to be impressed by his constantly changing style, never fearing to try out new ideas and techniques, one can always be guaranteed that a new "3rd Foundation" masterpiece is around the corner. Even when he takes a break from his post-pro, his raw, natural images show a definite skill and talent for photography. If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery then Sean sure has an awful lot of admirers he's spawned with his never-ending bag of tricks. Thanks Sean, and keep 'em coming.

I consider Sean to be a true photographer with a wonderful flair for the artistic. What I enjoy most about his work is that he shoots the most interesting photos which are well worth spending time with. He then takes these awesome photos and further enhances the magic with his creative photoshop skills. I think Sean has a restless soul and his real love and passion for photography is inspiring and his photos are some of my favorites on flickr.

I was teasing him the other day that he should go into business fixing other people pictures with his wonderful Photoshop skills because he was giving people pointers and actually reworking peoples shots for them showing them the magic that can be found in a good shot. I suppose he could be doing this because it is too darn cold to go out shooting in Minnesota and he just needed to do something, but somehow I doubt it. Thanks for your help and your friendship. He has a wide range of subject matter, offering something for everyone; but I must admit I am most drawn to the pictures of his children. Sean is a master at capturing the magic of childhood and the ever-changing seasons and, really, the essence of life. Each of his photographs is a work of art; and if that weren't enough, he also posts informative captions--often outlining useful tips and techniques--with each photo. Sean is an inspiration to any photographer--novice or professional; and each time I leave his site, I go away feeling the world is just a little more beautiful. I am lucky to have found his work and to count him among my Flickr friends.
